Dusk Lene


From a Indian girl with at close relationship to family and friends,  Lata is now a growing marriage woman.  (p. 2 l. 47) “I’m not a bride anymore”.

But when she talks about Indian Lata is like a little happy girl and dancing. (p.2 l. 48) In the cinema, Lata talks loud and happy like a child when she tells about the homeland.. (p. 3 l. 121) “There’s Marine Drive, oh look, my college”.

 And Anuj have to shush at he (p.4 l. 125) “Shhh, watch the movie”  And when she cried, she takes Anuj’s hand and calmed him. (p. 4 l. 150) “She patted his hand and replied, “ Yeah, I’m alright. Let’s go home”

It is arranged marriage. And Lata have to learn to love Anuj (p. 2 l. 59) “ She would learn to love him”

Later when they sitting in the car and Lata take Anuj’s hand. ( p. 4 l 150) “Let’s go home”. Now she has accept it is he home.

a) “You alright?” Page 3, line 92 an stranger man asked Lata when she are wetting for Anuj.“You alright?”

Page 3 line ⁹⁶ Anuj asked her when he is back

(Page 3 line 101) Lata ask “why do people here ask”…

(Page 4 line 149) when they  sittingn the car, on the way home

b) At first Lata think people is worried about he, later she know it is well chosen phrase

c)

d) Lata accepted when she finds out it is a kind of saying hallo.

e) Lata would only eat at the Indian restaurant, if not an Indian food then eat at home. (p.₁ line ₁₉)  when Anuj offered her the new restaurant, but Lata says :“No. There is food in the fridge”
